Saturday, December 17, 2016, Mike and Holly exchanged marriage vows; the sweetest vows I have ever heard. Family and friends came from all over Ontario and the UK to witness this beautiful couple come together.
It was January 2013 when Mike first spotted Holly at a friend’s house; they met, talked but did not exchange numbers. You could say that it was love at first sight for Mike as he couldn’t get her out of his mind. He found her on Facebook and wanted to see her again; after pursuing her for a few weeks they went out. They shared this story with me at The Ministry of Coffee and Social Affairs; as they told the story together, looking so lovingly into each other’s eyes and jokingly teasing each other – it was like they were the only 2 people in the room.
The proposal…so how did Mike propose? Clearly after such a 'fairytale' meeting the proposal had to be just as good... and it was. They were getting ready to go out for dinner one evening to Baton Rouge. As they were getting ready the song ‘Archie, Marry Me’ by Alvvays came on. Mike knew he was going to ask Holly to marry him but he didn’t know that the perfect moment would be in their kitchen after dancing to their favourite song.
When I first met Holly, they had been engaged for just over a week and would be getting married in 5 weeks! Holly owns her own party/event business here in Ottawa called Fairytale Princess Parties , so it makes sense how she was able to pull such a beautiful day together in just a short period of time.
Holly grew up dressing up like a princess only to end up dressing up like one for her job, to actually becoming one on her wedding day. The Princess married her Prince Charming.
The day of the wedding was full of joy and love; the happiness was so infectious that by the end of the night my face hurt from smiling so much.
Enjoy some of my favourite shots from that day!
