Derek + Josie

I find Sunday evening to be one of the best times to get photos done outdoors. Why? Simply because there are less people around. Derek, Josie, and I had our two locations almost fully to ourselves; minus a dog or two. The weather was incredible;  not too hot, not too cold, and the sunlight, oh my goodness, the sunlight. One weird thing I’ve noticed about writing blog posts is that I always seem to talk about the weather. Which is funny to me because I hate small talk, but the weather is pretty important when it comes to taking photos outdoors using only natural light so I guess its justified. I don’t want to fangirl too hard over the sun but I’ve really missed those golden warm tones that we get over the spring and summer months.

Derek and Josie first met through Hinge; on their first date Derek told me that when he walked into the Tims (the most Canadian first date ever I may add, I love it. Though I’m bias as my husband and I had our first date at Tim Hortons) anyway when he walked in and saw Josie, Derek felt an overwhelming sense of peace. I think, this can be a form of “love at first sight”, or like when you ask your parents when you were younger how you know you found “the one” and their answer is “you’ll know”. Derek may not have felt in that moment I’m going to marry this woman, but he knew this was something different.  Their wedding is less than 2 months away and I couldn’t be more excited!

Engaged?

I have limited dates available for the 2023 wedding season. 2024 & 2025 books are open.
