Colin & Bethany 09.10.22

Colin and Beth got married at Mill Run Golf Club on a gorgeous sunny afternoon. When the three of us got together a couple of months prior for their engagement session, I asked Beth for all the wedding details; when she told me that her colours were earthy and each bridesmaid would have a different colour dress, I was over the moon excited. I am a huge fan of the untraditional, and the multi-coloured bridesmaid dresses are anything but traditional. Not only does it bring so much more colour into your wedding day but you also get the rare opportunity to pick a colour that compliments the wearer’s skin tone. This is my second wedding with multi-coloured bridesmaid dresses and it’s so fun playing with all the colours, and the different combinations. I hope more couples get on board with this non-traditional idea; I know for my wedding my people will be in mixed and matched colours.

Colin and Beth’s ceremony was held in a beautiful gardened area in front of a wooden gazebo, witnessed by their family and friends. An added benefit to having your ceremony in a garden; you spend less on ceremony decor because the location is already filled with beautiful flowers. Their reception was held in a large banquet hall within the Golf Club; which to my surprise had really good lighting. I only had to use my flash for the dances when the house lights came down. Overall it was such a beautiful day, filled with love and so much laughter.

This right here is my favourite groomsmen prompt. It’s fun, there’s lots of movement, and the reactions are always priceless and unique. First, I position the groom in front of me and have the groomsmen stand a ways behind him. I secretly tell the groomsmen that on my signal they are to run and charge at the groom - without seriously injuring him - of course - the results are always fun and let's face it, the guys love it!

Yes, I did the same prompt with the whole bridal party, I couldn’t resist; Colin and Beth’s bridal party were too fun not to!

I love this shot; Beth wanted to recreate a photo from their engagement session, on their wedding day, and I’d say it’s pretty close! You can find the photo here.

This shot reminds me of an old romantic black and white film.
