Ryan + Tamera

I went from having never been to or photographing in Elora, Ontario, to being there twice within 37 days; and both sessions couldn’t be more different. When Ryan and Tamera first inquired, I knew these two were my kind of people. They are down to earth, love animals and nature, and we have similar music tastes. Plus, they love playing video games and watching anime together, which is something my husband and I love doing together as well. Ryan and Tamera first met at work, which I feel isn’t as common anymore, especially in the era of dating apps.

We had an absolute blast exploring the gorge and the surrounding forests before heading into town for their engagement session. As a wedding photographer, most of my job is just hanging out with people in love; as time goes by, you get pretty good at noticing green and red flags in couples. It’s been said before, but it really is true: Marry your best friend. The person you can laugh with and cry with, the person you want there for all the highs and lows, the person you want to tell every little thing to. Marry the person who sees you and loves you for exactly who you are—someone who doesn’t want to change you. Marry someone who is not only kind and gentle with you but also isn’t afraid to tell you how it is—someone who challenges you and gives you the space to grow. After spending just a couple of hours with Ryan and Tamera, it was very clear that they are each other's best friend. I am so beyond excited to capture their wedding in October 2024, but until then, enjoy some of my favourite images from their fall engagement session.

Tameras ring is so unique and so beautiful, it just screams her. I have been seeing a lot of unique rings in the last couple years and I am a huge fan of it.
